In 1998, Erlanger's LIFE FORCE Communications Center was designated as a Regional Medical Communications Center (RMCC) by the State of Tennessee division of Emergency Medical Services for Southeast Tennessee (Region 3). As the Region 3 RMCC, Chattanooga MedComm serves as a medical resource coordination center for hospitals, emergency medical services and other members of the Southeast Tennessee Healthcare Coalition. .
MedComm Scope
MedComm coordinates medical communications, consultation and mutual aid support for EMS services in the Southeast Tennessee Region. MedComm provides advisory status reports and direct ambulance-to-hospital communications routing for transports to a Chattanooga area hospital emergency departments. These hospitals include the following:
- Children's Hospital at Erlanger
- Erlanger East Hospital
- Erlanger Medical Center - Baroness Campus
- Erlanger North Hospital
- Memorial Hospital - Glenwood
- Memorial Hospital - Hixson
- Parkridge Medical Center
- Parkridge East Hospital
