About chattanooga medcomm


In 1998, Erlanger's LIFE FORCE Communications Center was designated as a Regional Medical Communications Center (RMCC) by the State of Tennessee division of Emergency Medical Services for Southeast Tennessee (Region 3). As the Region 3 RMCC, Chattanooga MedComm serves as a medical resource coordination center for hospitals, emergency medical services and other members of the Southeast Tennessee Regional Healthcare Coalition.

MedComm Scope

MedComm coordinates medical communications, consultation and mutual aid support for EMS services in the Southeast Tennessee Region. MedComm provides advisory status reports and direct ambulance-to-hospital communications routing for transports to a Chattanooga area hospital emergency departments. These hospitals include the following: 

  • Children's Hospital at Erlanger 
  • Erlanger East Hospital 
  • Erlanger Medical Center - Baroness Campus
  • Erlanger North Hospital
  • Memorial Hospital - Glenwood
  • Memorial Hospital - Hixson
  • Parkridge Medical Center 
  • Parkridge East Hospital
